Once I did some research, I knew that this game and it’s book was getting pre-ordered!
After receiving both of these gorgeous gems, I must say that I’m completely enamored! Bethesda did not disappoint on their game play, and Prima came through on this guide. It’s thorough, beautifully made, and laid out in a fashion where anything you may need can be found. The beautiful hard-bound cover is gorgeous to look at, and the bonus bookmark has already come in handy. In the past, I’ve used sticky notes, and by the time everything is said and done, the guide is a colorful place.
You need this book! It covers everything you could possibly want to know about the game, and now includes all of the expansions! It starts off with the basics of character creation and the strengths of every race and their abilities. It goes through each of the skills and how they’re leveled you have to actually hit something with that fireball spell to level your destruction; casting it into space doesn’t work. It covers every quest in the game, and I bet you’ll flip through it and find a quest you’ve never known existed, even though you’ve played hours over the course of the PS4 and PS3 versions of the game and soon to be PSVR, which this will work for too.

Prose that sings. Verified Purchase. It’s been a bestseller for years–deservedly so. First, to give author Diana Gabaldon her due. Not only did she write this long novel plus seven more, plus some related novellas and such , and keep it endlessly entertaining with vivid characters and fresh plot twists galore. No, that was not enough. She had to write some of the most vivid sweet prose around. Over and over I found gems–dozens of them. They are the kind of verbal jewels that make any author gasp and say “I wish I wrote that.
Second, to comment on my fellow readers. I recently transitioned six times through airports. Most readers had no idea what was going on around them because they were clearly a couple centuries back, in Scotland. I wonder how many missed their flights? Third, to comment on copy editing as I usually do. This is a long book. I did spot some errors in my Kindle version but, compared to many ebooks, not many errors. Room for improvement but overall pretty good–better than most, for sure.
The odds are slim that anyone will encounter this five-star review in the vast ocean of existing appreciation for this delightful book and its author. If, perchance, a live person actually reads this review, please let me know with a “helpful” vote. I’ll know it’s a good day to buy a lottery ticket.
Several people in my life have recommended the Outlander series to me for years, so despite my not ever feeling a strong pull toward the premise, I finally caved and tried to give it a shot, with the first book. I’m not really sure what I was expecting of this book except to find it to be a very good read, according to so very many. I mean, I knew there was going to be “romance” due to the main thrust of the plot being how Claire navigates two great loves in two different times, but I thought there was going to be more to it.
And maybe there is, later on? But I doubt it. Took me awhile to admit that the “story” is really just various pretexts for putting Claire and her Scottish husband Jamie into a variety of steamy sex scenes. Now, don’t get me wrong: I like a good steamy romance novel, now and again. It’s just that I was expecting more substance from this particular series.
I love sci-fi, and time travel qualifies, but turns out that’s just a cute backdrop for the romance, at least in the first half of the first book. No way am I remotely inclined to slog through 8 books to see if it breaks free of the Harlequin vibe! The writing is not bad, so I’m giving it three stars. Claire is a fighter and puts some hurt back on him, but the whole situation is designed to do what I mentioned at the beginning: to set up a steamy sex scene.
So yeah, that was about halfway through and is the point at which I remembered that life is too short to waste good reading time on anything I’m not thoroughly into. Especially with the prospect of seven more books to go. Time to find something else. A few hundred pages in, I finally got into the story, only to quickly find that I could not finish reading the book.
Practically just after he has forcibly held her down and whipped her, she is having sex with him. She also finds this to be the perfect time to tell him she loves him? I would not recommend that anyone read this book as it portrays the wrong impression to females.
This book promotes domestic violence and abusive mentality. To let Claire believe she deserved the physical punishment regardless of the time period sends the wrong message to young girls or women suffering from abuse.
The author clearly did not think about the views her writing would portray in relation to social issues. If I could give this 0 stars I would. Hated this book. I won’t be reading any more of her books. She seems to have a creepy obsession with rape and sexual violence. There are WAY too many sex scenes, so many that it got tiresome.
These scenes are very graphic, as are the descriptions of rape. No, this not OK, nor is it at all romantic. It’s sick. I was disgusted and disappointed by this book. It also seems homophobic because the only gay characters are creepy rapists.

The qualitative difference between a “revised edition” and a “new edition” is subjective.
This is analogous to the way that software publishers may denominate an iteration “version 3. The subjective judgment of the degree of the significance of the change made with the new iteration or the perceived marketing advantage of designating the new iteration as a specific number determines how the new iteration is numbered. Therefore, the designation “revised edition” does not designate any quality or quantity of revision with certainty.
