So none of his folders show up on the email provider’s actual website, so none of his emails are organized he has something like 30 folders, and over 7, emails alone in his inbox, with many more in the folders.

So if he started using either of the newer applications without importing the folders from his old application, his inbox would be cluttered. These emails are organized for an event he helps run and is therefore needed to be organized.

Thanks again for the reply! I’ll try skipping the product key first and just allowing the device to register itself, as you describe. Worst case, I’ll use the second key. Back to the main issue though, my apologies, I am expecting to install and only have my father in law use Windows Mail. The issue, however, is my ability to import the exported folders and emails from Windows Live Mail directly to Windows Mail. Windows Live Mail and WIndows 10 Mail are merely sync services which sync the mail in your various webmail accounts.

The difference is that WLM would let you store mail in actual physical folders on the PC while Windows 10 Mail folders are the same ones from the online mail account that live and stay online. So to populate the Mail and contacts in Windows 10 Mail app you’d sign into it with the same web mail accounts you used to sync to WLM.

I have been using Windows Live Mail running under Windows 10 since February without any problems. For some reason, beginning during the last week or so, my mail in the Inbox, Sent and Trash has been disappearing without me deleting it. I need some of this history but where is it going – I cannot seem to find it and have not found any answers from Microsoft or the Microsoft Community.

If it is anywhere I would appreciate someone letting me know where it is or what do I need to do to stop this from happening? I have never received any notice of this from Microsoft and will have big problems if this is true by June 30th!!!!!

What is going on from Microsoft with all of this kind of announcements? I have not found an easy way to convert to Outlook. If I need to do this where is the documentation? This thread is locked. Hi Noel, thanks for your reply. I have used Microsoft Live Mail since it came out and currently have 12 using Windows It has on occasion caused me some problems, like messages disappearing from my Inbox for no reason. I tried to convert to Outlook but found no way to transfer all my Contacts as well as email messages received and sent, so just gave up and continued with Windows Live Mail If you hear of anyway to convert to Outlook which Microsoft seems to desire us to use, I would appreciate any information.
